Who we are
Delphic International Ltd is responsible for the personal information this website collects (the "controller" in data protection law). Registered in England & Wales, company number 04926861. Registered office: Black Knight Fields, Minshull Lane, Wettenhall, Winsford, Cheshire CW7 4DU, United Kingdom. For any question about this policy, contact traffic@delphic-haulage.co.uk or call 01270 628 975.
What we collect
If you send us an enquiry through this website, we collect the details you type into the form (typically your name, company, email address, phone number and details of the load you want moving). We use those details only to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a customer, to carry out the work.
You do not have to give us any of it, but without a name, an email address and some details of the load we cannot reply. We do not use your details for marketing, and no decisions about you are made automatically.
Our legal basis for using enquiry details is our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us and, where you ask for a quote, taking the steps you have asked for before entering into a contract.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties except where it is necessary to carry out your job (for example, providing delivery details to a driver or customs agent) or where we are required to by law.
Who handles it for us
Two service providers process information on our behalf, under contract and only for these purposes:
- Cloudflare hosts this website. It receives the form when you press send, and like any web host it sees your IP address when you visit, which it uses to deliver the site and protect it from attack. Its Turnstile service checks that an enquiry comes from a person rather than a program, by looking at how your browser behaves while you fill in the form.
- Resend passes the enquiry on to our traffic office as an email.
The email then sits in our own business mailbox, which our email provider hosts for us under contract, in the same way as any other email you send us.
Both are US companies, so your information may be processed in the United States. Both are certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which UK law recognises as giving your information adequate protection.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for 24 months from your last contact with us, and then deleted. Records relating to jobs we have carried out are kept for as long as we are required to keep them for tax, insurance and legal purposes.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own. The only exception is the security check on the enquiry form (Cloudflare Turnstile), which may set a cookie belonging to Cloudflare while it runs; it is used only to tell people from bots, not to track you. There is nothing here for you to accept or refuse.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device and does not follow you to other websites. We see totals, not individuals. You can read what it collects at cloudflare.com/web-analytics.
The map on our contact page is embedded from OpenStreetMap. When it loads, your browser contacts OpenStreetMap's servers, which will see your IP address.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also ask us to limit how we use it and, where the law gives that right, to give you a copy in a format you can pass to someone else. Contact us using the details above. There is no charge, and we will reply within one month.
Your right to object. Because we rely on our legitimate interests to use enquiry details, you have the right to object to that use at any time, for reasons relating to your situation. If you do, we will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue, or need the information for a legal claim.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first, by email or phone as above, so we can put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, and tell you the outcome without undue delay. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time at ico.org.uk.
